    Applescript that shows ALL fonts??

Open up any Cocoa font panel. And you can sample there. For example... open Mail and go to compose. Click Font and go to the drop box and select SHOW PREVIEW. there you are. View any font on the system. Have fun :-)

    new radeon cards

The video is built onto the motherboard so you are out of luck. I feel your pain as I have the Ti 500 with worse video than you. LOL However 10.2 does run much faster than 10.1.5 on it. You have twice the VRAM I do, so you should be ok, even without QE like me.

Instant Messaging, Voice Chat on X?!

Worse case, try Gameranger. Funny as it may sound... it does support vioce chat, private rooms, buddy list and all, and is free as well. Runs native on OSX as well.

    OS X stability

Thought you were referring to a 'server', aka processes... so that wouldn't be an issue. However if you want to keep running apps you might be SOL on that one. Hmm.

Why not just log out? If you are running a server, the services will still run even though you are logged out. Works for me.

New Power Mac G4 systems to be unveiled tomorrow with speeds up to 1.25GHz

Clock for clock this is a valid thing, HOWEVER they are 2 fold beyond clock for clock so it don't matter. The AMD is the faster process no doubt about it. We wont be seeing the burn baby burn anytime for the next several years at this pace for sure. LOL It is true. MacOSX ITSELF IS threaded...

Qaud G4 Towers on the way?

Quad processors wont happen because OSX isn't ready for it yet. If you have doubts open your terminal and type: hostinfo. The Darwin kernel is updated for supporting only 2... at this point, even Jaguar isn't updated for more than 2. Sure, its possible for an update, but I doubt this. I agree...

    Possible Processor for the future?

I know consoles sell their hardware at a loss and make up sales on the software licenses. Which is why I marked my price up to $500 as an estimate. The PS3 will most likely sell around $399 at most so even at a loss of $100 is still falls in that $500 range I was giving. My point was just to...

    Possible Processor for the future?

I highly doubt it is that expensive if its going in a PS3. The total system price will never go about $500 at most for a PS3. Plus the target market for the chip is more than just the PS3 they say. Being that is is co-developed by Toshiba and IBM, obviously that where the multicore idea came...

    Possible Processor for the future?

Have you guys seen this? http://news.com.com/2102-1001-948493.html Might be a possibility in the future as well, since Apple likes to keep their options open. Co-developed by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba. What do you think?

intel cranks out 3 ghz chip.

Oh my fault there thought you were on the move to x86 bandwagon there too. LOL Ooops. We pretty much have the same view there basically though. As far as AltiVec, Motorola own the rights to it so IBM would have to license it. They don't want anything to do with it so that is why Motorola have...

intel cranks out 3 ghz chip.

This is not exactly the same OS as the NeXT days anymore. OSX now has carbon APIs. Unless an app is complete cocoa it will need to be updated to run across another cpu (x86) to address that. Also Aqua and the top layer will need to be rewritten and you can forget about classic. Being we still...

To Jaguar or not to Jaguar?

Someone takes life too serious there, we wont mention names.. Anyhow, it is has a lot of great features and the performance is much better than 10.1.5. Much more responsive.

    Xserve-like new PowerMac Tower enclosure.

Sounds like an external ZIF socket to me. No different than just buying a plain G4 CPU and pluggin in. The problem is making it external is the connection method to daisy chain it to run parallel on the motherboard there. Interesting concept. I have to agree though that would be something...

    Xserve-like new PowerMac Tower enclosure.

That was tried on the internal level before. Remember the 8500 and 9500 systems. The processors were cards. The old 604 was expanded like that. nPower made dual and even quad procesor cards. Would have been nice if that concept was more common. However as someone pointed out bus bottlenecking...
