    Apple X11 and Sourceforge KDE

I believe I asked this question about 9 months ago. Since there has been no reply, I'll try re-wording the question in case the orginal was not clear. KDE is set to launch when I open X11. However, once KDE has loaded, NONE of the windows are responsive (To ANYthing). I can move folders and...

    Port Forwarding

Great, this option is now clear. How can I make the same thing happen going through a router at home (with or without a firewall, since it can be disabled). A firewall at work isn't a problem since others are getting into their home desktops all the time. Also, I assume the password is...

    Port Forwarding

Okay, this is confusing? I've done the vnc thing before. But now I have a router in the equasion. I'm hearing Yes to router and No to NNC, and I'm hearing Yes to VNC config and forget the router. I'm also hearing that changes need to be made in the Staring (network)? settings in system...

    Port Forwarding

Okay, I turn off port forwarding in the router, then set up the vnc server to forward 5800 and 5900 and then I'll be able to get to my mac, through the router, from the NT at work by putting my wan ip in the address bar of a browser. Do I have everything?

    Port Forwarding

I want to login to my Mac, through my router, from my PC at work (win NT). I've set up the router to forward port 139. To pull this off, will I need VNC (and how do I configure it) or any changes to System Preferences Sharing settings?

    Classic History

Boy, That's SPEEDY. Anyway, since classic runs in emulation, can I assume that the forementioned instructions will reclaim hard drive space?

Mail: Why can't I do this anymore??

BTW I just tried adding back one of my email account, and here's what I got: The account path /Users/greghyde/Library/Mail/POP-greghyde@pop3.covad.net is already being used by the account “BuyGone” This makes NO sense since the word greghyde IS NOT being used in conjunction with...

Mail: Why can't I do this anymore??

I'm not sure what is meant by the above suggestions. I -Did- delete the POP-greghyde@pop3.covad.net folder, however. Maybe this will help: I Also used to be able to setup more than one email account from the same domain, but now Mail FREAKS when I try the same. Desite different usernames...

    Windoze to Mac

It was working fine, it really was. I set up windose to mount a Mac drive by setting up the PC to have the same username and password that I use for my Mac. But now, all of a sudden, windose is back to assuming control and is back to bluntly (and defiantly, I might add) to telling me that the...

Mail: Why can't I do this anymore??

I Used to be able to set up multiple email accounts in Mail from the Same domain. Now, whenever I try, I get the following message when trying to save the settings: The account path /Users/greghyde/Library/Mail/POP-greghyde@pop3.covad.net is already being used by the account “BuyGone” You...

    Airport Extreme

Referring to access points (which have anntannas (sp)), what ballpark ranges can I expect with the old airport card and thr G4 powerbook? Is it extended?

    Airport Extreme

To glean from the above posts: range can be influenced by the wireless router (Or Access Point being used, correct)? Any discussion on the advantages of using Access Points (esp with the airport cards --extreme and unextreme)
