Hi, Today i picket up a Free new (old) G4 466/640 mb tower with a translucent Powermonitor not a flat screen but the latest screen from apple. And the power consumpsion of the machine without a Monitor is 23 watts!! with monitor 70 watts!! COOL much better than expected 23 WATTS...

If he has no warrenty anymore and a new logicboard is 500,- dollars, why couldnt he try to fix the problem himself? Its verry easy to take a imac appart and clean the fan + remove and clean the cpu cooler. This problem is the cpu cooler its gets to Hot and for safety the imac shuts it self...

Hi there, Iam sorry for your problem. But i think this is a problem with a faulty CPU cooler, try to take the imac appart and take off the cpu cooler and clean it with a soft cloth and put new cooler paste on it. And check if your ventilators are not dusty. Hope this helps...

I know that the powersupply is 200wats, but thats not the total output power the macmini G4 uses 35 wats, i think that the G4 350 uses 45 / 60 wats but i would like to know for sure. I want to buy one as a download machine.

No i tried every-thing zapping pram resetting the Cuda button ., removing the battery for one hour.. Tried these commando's in the open firmware ; bye ( commando for leaving the open firmware ) reset-all boot-mac ( boots in OS 10.2 ) shut-down reset-nvram nothing works :(

You only notice the diffrent if you have a AGP card that suports Quarz Extreme.. Its a recent update from Yesterday, The Pro Cards are not suported by Quarz Extreme...
