    Apple - Part II

Ed- i have to disagree with you on the 'home user' bit. Granted... Mac's are great for home users. Let me never argue this. But mac's have also long been at the forefront of imaging, design, and A/V. Apple makes machines and system software that is more transparent to the user. It gets...

Please tell me how to network 2 Macs in OS X.

Check in the appletalk tab under networking... if the G3 is looking at it's ADB cable for appletalk data then there's one of your problems. Just make sure sharing is started and then check in the connect computers dialog. Another option might be ftp... if you know how to do that.

Tormente- you're living up to your title just a tad too well. He hasn't even replied yet.

    Apple - Part II

Correction- Pro Tools runs on Windows 2k. It works on Windows 98. It rocks on a Mac :) And presently, there's almost NO pro audio software out for MacOSX, because Core Audio is a huge shift from Sound Manager/ASIO. Most people are being patient, because their studios still work with os9...

First real 3D modeling I've done. Cinema 4D... did all the texturing and lighting myself. Model is done ENTIRELY with booleans. It takes forever to modify on my dp500... frickin' booleans. I just can't bear to reduce them to polygons...

Sweet jesus on a popsicle stick! This is still going? Honestly Goerge... 'I don't want to wait until 10.2'? Rest assured, Apple has heard your obviously empirical observations and has dispatched Steve Jobs in a pixie outfit to sprinkle magical pixie dust on your system. Expect him...

What keeps you from using OS X exclusively

I'm waiting for MOTU to finish Digital Performer for OS X, as well as some updates from Propellerheads and Native Instruments (not sure if I heard any news from NI though). I can be patient though... Core Audio riggity rocks, not to mention singular storehouses for plugins... mmm... pro audio...

    Apple - Part II

omfg- give this a rest already. Goerge- accept that people have disagreed with your premises, continue to wait (or not wait), and get on with it. There are far too many complacent (read- SATISFIED) OS X users accumulated here. If you want to be patted on the back, go find some MacOS X sucks...

    New Site... Whacha Think

Do you really need to use frames? It might be better to just toss that banner at the top of your HTML files then require the user navigate the page each time... not to mention that frames inherently break the way a user browsers the web- where hitting the back button only changes one frame...

Apple kicks off open source developer!

Exactly... in fact... nearly every single one of those 'agreements' state that you agree that you are 18 years of age or asks you to find a parent or gaurdian to click 'I Agree' for you. Minors are legal Crisco... almost nothing short of capital crime sticks to them.

    Dual display

I was pretty sure that all the video adapters on the newer powermacs supported dual displays... If it doesn't... it's as simple as tossing any other pci video card in there... I was looking on ebay this morning for old RAGE 128 cards and they go for about 50-75 dollars... Mac video...

Your Mac-- Male or Female? :)

Mostly it's in the name... I've found that it's good luck to name your machine... not just your name... but a name like it was a pet. My DP500 is named Gibralter... since tossing OS X onto it it's been living up to it's namesake :)

How? How, how how? Part Two

just caught the reference to FraxFlame... it's actually just an implementation of a type of fractal called flame... anyone who's used ElectricSheep knows what they look like. http://draves.org/flame There are lots of links to free software... plugins for aftereffects (which MAY work with...

How? How, how how? Part Two

Just to chime in one more time... very many of the base photoshop plugins are based upon previously existed photographic/printmaking techniques. Most of them are designed to be accurate... not to be one-shot type stylers for web page heading graphics. I may be being over pretentious...

How? How, how how? Part Two

KPT does very few things well that can't be done better with some decent application of photoshop's basic tools. Now in my third year of studying interactive digital media... I use the base plugins pretty much exclusively... most often guassian blur or noise filters. More often than not I'm just...
