Any people say the premium on Macs is high.

That I know, but I wouldn't of expected any current AMD support on a eval board. Boards like the Pegasos and AmigaOne are still using pretty old technology on the surrounding architecture.

Check these out. Wouldn't of expected an AMD southbridge.

    Programming in Java on Mac

Have you taken a look at Sun Java Studio Creator? I think it'll be more to your liking than Xcode. I like Xcode, but I've been using it for some time now. I think I'm just accustomed to it and it doesn't get in the way. It can be a bit awkward at first for new and experienced alike.

You might also want to take a look at Sun Java Studio Creator, $99 US, but they have a try and buy download.

    coding cocoa and quite clueless

How will you be using this map? Will you be calling on those grid coordinates programmatically, like move grid 1,2 to 1,3? Or will you just need to store x,y = building?

    Future of eMac? Impending demise?

I can see the low-end iMac G5 take the spot of the eMac quite easily once new models replace the top end 1.8. A $999 iMac G5 would probably generate as much interest as the Mac mini has.

    The PC-Mini?

I suppose we all knew it was bound to happen. http://news.com.com/Photos+Intels+own+mini+PC/2009-1042_3-5596587.html?tag=st.prev

    New Powerbooks

Last year I purchased an iMac G4 online then decided I'd rather have a PowerMac and was able to exchange it at my local Apple store. The box was unopened of course.

    Install bluetooth on powermac

Looks straight forward enough. I suppose trying to get ones hands on the BT module is the hard part.

I'd like recommendations on Mac OS X programming books

If you want to learn Objective-C, pick up "Programming in Objective-C" by Stephen G. Kochan. It'll teach you the language, then moves you on to Foundation classes. Most of the Cocoa books will just concentrate on the GUI so as soon as you reach the first the first or second tutorial you feel...

    Mac Mini Take Apart mov

How about that, it's just the regular card. I thought it was gonna be something specially made for it. Well at least if someone isn't afraid to get into the guts of the mini they might be able to add their own. The tape looks so not to Apple's standards. Gues there's no room for some plastic...

    Mac Mini Take Apart mov

Doesn't look all that bad. I see the optical drive and hard drive bracket looks easy enough to remove for any upgrade there. Is there a special mini airport card?

    Mac Mini Take Apart mov

Not sure where it came from, but I'll probably make one of my wn when I try to install RAM. Might go for 1GB, depends how cheap I can get the stick. I guess the Bluetooth/Wifi option is all I need from the factory.

    Mac Mini Take Apart mov

I think that's just an slim plate in the inside of the cover or shielding of some kind and not part of the outer top cover.

Did anyone notice the 20" display price drop?

My Samsung's LCD area measures 17x12.75. I think screen height is more important that width when working with documents. Maybe a 23" CHD? Run the numbers real quick.. How about the 30" while you're at it?

    iWork, worth it ?

iWork is just the beginning of what may be a full suite in the near future. After all Keynote was a standalone product until now. I think we may see much more improvements as iWork evolves and more features added. I think once Tiger is released Apple will be more focused on applications and...

    Mac mini

It always seems to be that way. If someone needs the power of the G5, they should get it. I know the Mac Mini isn't a the best performer, but it would be the fastest G4 I've ever had. And I started out with a Graphite 400, Quicksilver 800, and MDD Dual 867 before I bought the G5 so a 1.25 or...

    Mac mini

126EUR isn't so bad, but considering it's only been 2 months to lose 1/3 the value is tough. Personally for what I want a Mini, it's cheap and fast enough to have in the bedroom and living room so I can stream music and video from my server instead of getting one of those awful media sharing...
