    Proxy/Port Forwarding?

At work we have a firewall that blocks all outgoing ports except 80, 21, 23 (web, ftp, telnet). Is there a way I can setup a proxy or something at home that would allow me to push data though the an open port to my computer at home who would then send it to the correct address/port? I want to...

    Mac Clan Wolfenstein Server

I don't know. There would probably be like 10-12 people at the same time on the server? But it woulf only be a couple times a week for an hour or two. If you wanted to set one up, we could get a person on there, if you have a way to measure bandwidth? -jdog

    Oh, say, can you 'C'?

Maybe if you understood the basics of C, you wouldn't have to pay people to answer your questions? -jdog

    Mac Clan Wolfenstein Server

Does anybody have a 10.1 or linux box on a high speed connection and would be willing to setup a dedicated wolfenstein server for the Mac Wolfenstein Clan? If you are a business and would be willing to sponser us with the server, I'm sure we can work something out. Thanks -jdog

    Tk on 10.1

Don't know if you guys noticed this: http://www.opensource.apple.com/news/index.html Tk now runs natively on 10.1. This means any apps that use Tk for the GUI should compile under 10.1! Now if we can only get GTK to run natively.... -jdog

    RAM - CL2 or CL3?

Is there a way to tell whether you have CL2 or CL3 ram? Are most 256mb DIMMs gonna be CL2? I just ordered 2x256mb and the website did not mention which it was? -jdog

    VERY simple C question

scanf is very screwy. When you are hitting return from the first scanf, the second one is reading the '\n' since its still in the buffer. You should be able to use fflush(stdin), but who knows. It would be a little extra work, but a good learning excersice: use gets() and take the...

    Old powerbook G4s

I wish my TiBook had 1) The 133mhz bus 2) the better graphics card. But still only 16mb ram for graphics card? Come on, put at least 32 in there. But I think I will be happy with mine for a while. (Well i guess I have to since I still have a ways to go to pay it off). -jdog

    Mac OS X for AMD/Intel

Newflash: Dell does not produce the products in their PCs, they just put the parts together. If you buy 2000 of ANY computer, whether its an Apple, Compaq, Dell, Sun, whatever, you will have problems. Thats just the nature of the electronic beast. I don't think that porting OSX to i386...

    Mac OS X for AMD/Intel

Fryke: you either need a vacation or you need some good weed. As far as Dell goes, my most recent PC purchase was a Dell and it has the same parts I would have got if I built it myself. I have had no trouble with it. Paying higher prices for Macs does not mean you are getting high...

    Mac OS X for AMD/Intel

Right now Apple's biggest problem is their hardware. They have this awsome OS, but it only runs on over-priced under-powered hardware. For example, Apple's entrie level PowerMac is the 733Mhz for $1699. If I was to build a PC myself I could get a 1400mhz AMD (everything else would be the...
