My goal here is to have a recording of my mac reading a line of text in the zarvox voice. This is easily accomplished having textedit read it aloud while i have amadeus on record. However, this kinda produces results that aren't really what i have in mind. Is there any other way of doing this...

Yeah you do... I would have had to, but conveniently my parents decided to buy a new iMac recently... recent enough to qualify for up-to-date... so I "borrowed" Jag CD, which can only be used to upgrade. fun fun fun.... This problem really annoys me though, now that I have both 10.1 and 10.2...

mail, qt, iphoto, addy book, textedit, preview, dvd player, sherlock, ichat, ical, backup, chess, calculator, print centre, diskcopy, terminal, process viewer, system prefs, system profiler... even tho i don't particularly care for ical or ichat... i keep everything in there cuz it annoys...

what exactly is the real world difference btw refresh rates anyway? i mean i know how they work... but how does it effect the user/display?
