Had enough with slow folders (with many files)

Its all good...Just a bit frustrated that I cannot make the switch at work, but I can only play with the OS on my Ti. There are quite a few drivers which are still not available in X yet. So we are not able to make the switch.

Had enough with slow folders (with many files)

SC I understand your love for the Mac, but some objectivity when it comes to its short comings would be reasonable. There is no reason at this point in time you shouldn't be able to resize, scroll, or preview the contents of a directory faster. I shouldn't have to modify the way I work to...

Had enough with slow folders (with many files)

I must say I agree. Resizing and viewing within a window should be a fairly simple task. All of the eye-candy is very cool. I couldn't wait to get the beta of X when it came out, but Apple is certainly falling into the same bloatware category as Microsoft on this one. You should be able to run...

    10.1.3 Dialup/disconnect delay! fix pls

I have the same problem. I use an Airport in hopes of DSL becoming available in my area (Silicon Valley a little ridiculous). My dial-up account with Earthlink is incredibly slow to connect, whereas my Verio account was much faster. I honestly think it is an Earthlink issue.

    What the heck...

Since Apple supposedly browses this area, I'll go ahead and put my wish list out there. I've used Apples since my LC which had 4MB ram and I think it had a 40MB HD. I own my own business and truly would love to use OSX and throw away the aging OS9. We tried it for awhile on a couple of systems...

    Airport and PC's

There isn't a whole lot to explain...just the hardware (802.11b card) should come with drivers - that allow you to connect with the same settings as the base station. (i.e. channel, network name, speed, WEP encryption type, etc.) I had this working with ME and it now works with 2000 server...

    Airport and PC's

I use an Airport Base Station with a couple Mac laptops and a PC laptop (using a Netgear 802.11b card) and it works fine.

    Microsoft Intellipoint

Actually satv who replied to original complaint back in August has recompiled a driver for 10.1. You can grab it at the address below. It would be nice if Microsoft could release a driver. It isn't like they don't have the manpower. here's the link for anyone who is interested...

    Microsoft Intellipoint

Problem is you cannot swap buttons if you are a lefty – very frustrating. If anyone has some insight here let me know.

Anyway to swap mouse buttons for lefty's??

I'm a totally rookie when it comes to UNIX. Trying to learn...is it possible to get detailed directions? I sent a flaming mail to Apple about this - ridiculous that the Apple driver doesn't have support for two-buttons. It will be interesting to see their reply.

Anyway to swap mouse buttons for lefty's??

I'm using my Intellimouse in OS X and the scroll, left and right buttons work properly, but I'd like to swap the button assignments. I'm a die-hard lefty, so a standard click is a control click...DOH!
