Where do you guys get OS X icons? I use http://xicons.com which is great. I was just wondering if there is anything else out there.

drag avi2mov, then drag the orinaldivxmovie.avi, the type the directory and filename of the xxxx.mov as you would like it saved as....if you dont type the directory, the terminal will save the new file in the home folder with whatever name you have typed for it.... same with getmp3...

avi2mov and getmp3 should not be in qt library... those two are tools that you can use in the terminal...what you do is drag EITHER one in the terminal, then you movie, then type desired location and name of the new file to be created "xxxx.mov or xxxx.mp3" the .mov file should play fine...

I have the same problem...my numbers arent too high...less than 40 megs...but still, my system after being up for a while will slow much more dramatically than it did with good ole 9.1....I want my 9.1 back...or I want Apple to fix 9.2.1

I took it completely off my system cause I thought it sucked. Apparently it slows down you system keeping a constant cache of system activities (maybe for apples "research") which can't be turned off or thrown out. Basically, I think 9.2 sucks from what I saw.

definitely go for the dual 800....I would get the least amount of ram possible and the smallest hard drive possible and buy third party upgrades for those. both the hard drive and the ram are incredibly easy to install...there movies on the apple website describing how to do it...

I think you should get a Dual. I have one and I love it. It IS faster for OS X, but as you may know, RAM is really helpfull with OS X. I would get a dual and upgrade the RAM. The Ram is cheaper than water right now. Remember, Two brains are better than one.

Okay, get the lowest model of the ibook. I would advise against getting the ram from apple, although, I know it is good ram. Go to http://mac.price.com and there you will find relatively good prices on Ram. There are other places on the internet to buy Ram, I would suggest looking around.

Try initializing the disk first [Zero all data when formatting]. Then install OS 9.1. Get the updates for OS 9.1 (using software update). Then install OS X and immediately get the updates for OS X (also using software update). If the problems still persist I would be more than happy to adopt...
