If Apple had pursued that project, the company would have most likely gone under. Due to the fact that PCs have been historically cheaper and more of the market share is dominated by PCs, Apple would have appeared to have been abandoning its own hardware---and thus software.

yeah I am talking about Auto Power On/Off and Energy Savers function of being able to start up independently, like on a schedule, there is no way to do that in X. I am sure that most of the computers turn back on if there is an outage...I think thats just the way it works...

I dont think there is an upgrade yet. Especially for the dual processors-if that's what you bought, I don't think there is an upgrade out yet. You would be better off just adding more ram though. Waiting is also a good idea, I am sure by the beginning of next year, the OS will be more refined...

In OS 9.1 I can use the Energy Saver to turn my Mac on and off automatically. OS X is lacking this. Any ideas, small proggies, or anything? I wonder if this will be implemented into later versions of X. Hmmmm...

I dont know what happened. I installed 0.3 and everything. When I let my system sit (for instance during a download) my system will log me out and sleep after a certain amount of time. Okay, when starting up in 9 and running HL client, I can get up to 500-600k from a particular server. However, when booting up in X and running HL client (classic) I get less than 100k. Does anybody know why this is? Does anybody have fix its? Thanks in advance.
