I would think that calling Apple would be the easy way of getting it back. You just have to call Apple and prove that you say who you are, they will check that you have really bought it and then they will give you the serial. At least that is how I've done it in the past.

You can go to Software Update and update to 10.3.9. Under the Apple Menu on the top left you will find Software Update, follow the instructions for updating and it will do almost everything for you. Once you have update to 10.3.9 you should be fine.

Handbrake is the best program I have used for converting. Handbrake also had many different presets for you to choose from for certain situation. I think will serve you well.

Are you sure you have the Combo Updater? How big is the file? Just use Software Update, it'll do everything for you.

Well thats the thing.... It's supposed to overrider the automatic entries without having to select them or anything else. They are supposed to just dissapear, but apparently it's not?
