I know little about this. I've learned that the Macbook's HD is very easy to remove and on Ars Technica the reviewer managed to replace the HD with a 120GB 7200RPM hard disk. What HD would one use? They come in all sorts of sizes. I'm trying to contact the reviewer, but thanks anyway.

Basically I want it so that when I plug the HD, and launch a download program, it downloads straight to the external HD. Can this be done? 10.4.6.

Of course you'll have to buy a separate copy of Windows, but in my opinion that's better than just having those recovery disks provided with most PCs. I'd rather just have a clean disk with the entire O.S in its normal form.

I too use a powerbook. I brought the Apple keyboard and Mighty Mouse when the Mighty Mouse came out. In the Apple Keyboard box there was an extension cable. Sadly you can't use it for the mighty mouse (it has some groove in it to prevent doing so) but it's still handy.
