    iBlog

iBlog is very easy to use. The disadvantage is that it produces only static pages, ie no built in support for comments and the like. These can be added. Plus, the .mac version only allows you to publish locally or to your .mac account. Makes sense, but the real version will up to any server...

Anybody else not renewing their .Mac account?

Some of the freebies were okay, but I decided to go with Lunarpages to host my website. If you don't get a domain name it's only $96 for the year, with all sorts of webspace. I don't use iSync or Backup and while the games were okay, I'd rather have the extra webspace, as the games were not...

    iTunes Music store not working?

I am too poor to purchase music right now, but my sister wanted me to get a bunch of songs from IMS and throw them on a CD. No problem, right? Well, for the last 24 hours or so every time I've tried to purchase a song, it comes up with an error message that says the store is currently unable...

Apple sightings on TV and movies?

Didn't actually see any Macs, but on Blind Date tonight on Spike (just got back from Japan and I love the first network for men) anyway, one of the captions for the guy, whom is a computer engineer, was "She's hotter than my iMac." And in response to her question of "what are you hoping for"...

Apple going after indie labels for ITMS?

I love the iTMS, but if indie music is what you crave I might suggest e-music. They already have a huge selection of indie label stuff. You do have to sign up for a contract (3 months or 12 months), but I've already downloaded +20 albums which has made up the $120 I will pay for the service...

Library sharing in iTunes 4... OVER THE INTERNET.

I would love to check out streams from other people's Macs, but how would this work through a router. If possible, what info is needed?

I wonder where these Apple terms came from.

Alan Turing is given much credit for creating the first electronic computers as a result of his, along with many others, attempts to crack the Enigma code used by the Nazis to transmit orders and the like during W.W.II. He did committ suicide in the 1950's by ingesting a poison apple. While...

    iPhoto for windows !!!???

Actually, the release date makes perfect sense. The photo albums are all in French, and in France like much of the world outside of the U.S., they place the day before the month when writing dates. So Christmas wouldn't be 12/25 it would be 25/12.

go for 12" Pbook or wait for 15" replacement?

I've the same problem. I would grab a 12" if I knew that it would make using Rebirth usable, screen wise. My iBook can handle the program processor wise no problem, but at only 800x600 resolution, it's trying at times as I can only see 3 instruments at a time. I guess my confusion is exactly...

Intel and Steve Jobs rumor - interesting update.

I'm no detective, but things are getting curiouser and curiouser

    Looks like Apple's pushing...

As you said, I like the fact that Apple is updating its products regularly as well as introducing new software. However, I have to disagree with the money grubbing criticism. If they were just grubbing money, they would certainly not be adding features to hardware and then lowering the prices...

    Have you tested this !!

I own stock in Apple and thus if I endorse it, Apple endorses it. As such, this product is great. I believe the developer is, Sam_has_a_lot_of_time_on_his_hands_so_he_can_surf this_forum,_but_someone_else_has_WAY_too_much_time_on their_hands_Software, Inc.

    japanese language router

This is a long shot, but I was wondering if anybody in this forum speaks (or can at least read) Japanese. I'm in Japan, can't speak a lick of Japanese, and I bought a router for my J-Com connection and it works wonderfully, except I don't know how to tweak the port settings so that I can use...

    Virtual PC 6

Virtual PC is decidedly optimized for the G4. I used a program called MixMeister on my 533MHz G4, but cannot use it at all on my iBook. I love my iBook, but this was very upsetting for me. Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with the situation as I don't think anybody is going to pony up the...

    This cracked me up

The current USB keyboard is not the first apple keyboard not to have a power key on it. The keyboards that came with my (technically my father's) 512k and Mac Plus did not have power keys on them. I agree with the audio port thing, why did they get rid of them really? As far as infared, who...

    It's not ugly, but

***** Sorry dudes, this was supposed to be a response to Cocoaholic's thread here: http://www.macosx.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23877 It was not meant to be it's own thread. Ed, feel free to move it to it's proper home as I evidently don't have power to do so. *****...

When will we finally see the codename "Cheetah?"

Excellent points about system speed. I have only a single processor 533 MHz g4 and it is plenty fast for me. The only proof I need is that I don't fear burning a CD, Listening to iTunes and surfing the web all at the same time. In 9 to insure against the production of coasters I would quit...

Jaguar fast enough to kill Mac OS 9?

Jaguar is just about as fast/snappy on a top of the end Machine than OS 9 is on my G4 533. It's a lot like how my dad's SE seemed faster under OS 6.8 than 7.1. All new OS need to have the hardware to take advantage and make them as fast as possible. Soon enough everything will make Jaguar seem...

Switcher Switched Back - Too Slow They Say

Firstly, Chimera rocks. I like it as it will actually open up the NME Radio listening window, however, just as with Mozilla it crashes the entire browser before the music beings. I don't suppose this has anything to do with the fact that NME radio is broadcast exclusively in Windows Media...

    Apple responds to Gateway's attack!

I work for Circuit City and I didn't come from the used car lot. Actually, I came from Colgate University. I needed the cash and didn't want a real job. I'd say only about half the people at CC come from used car lots. Most people are my age looking to make money (good money) and we ask if...
