Hrm. I guess while iMovie itself doesn't support dual-cpus, having a dual processor machine makes a huge difference in system responsive (at least down in the G4 500 and under class of machines). My old G4/400 went from unbearable to actually fun to use when I upgraded to dual 500s... So...

According to the Apple Store out here in Tokyo, the extended Apple Care warranty is also transferable with the sale of your old computer to the buyer so that does have some added value if you plan to sell your computer before the 3 year mark. Cheers.

My aging G4 with an Encore Dual 500 has a nice fat 2 x 1MB L2 cache (one per CPU) and no L3 so that should be an indication that things are all right...

Yup, and when you are running a Windows network with domain users set to Power Users or less, at the end of the day it's me who still has to make sure that every blood PC is properly patched. Forget about expecting that users (especially in an office) will take the time nor care to maintain...

The biggest concern you probably should have right now is blindly typing in Terminal commands if you are downloading or testing sample *nix stuff off the Net. Much more subtle than the Wash-Dishes.app route since if you are not totally familiar with what the commands do, you could be doing the...

I made the mistake of plugging my iPod into my Mac at work for an emergency power charge and changing sync mode to manual instead of canceling the dialog... I got home and lost a day's worth of music stats (ratings, play counts, etc.) so be sure to take your power along with you... Cheers.
