Malexgreen, I believe your prediction is premature. Most likely we will have 970's in xServes by the end of this year, or early 04, but we wont have 990's in xServes until early 05 at best. I do hope they hurry though.

In all sites i've accessed that sell DDR 3200 ram, the highest allocation is 512MB. The only 1GB DDR ram is 2700. Would this work and if so what are the disadvantages?

actually earlier today i went on the site and for me it said "select your powermac g5" but then below it listed "Single or Dual 1.42GHz PowerPC G4 Processors" and all the stuff about the G4 Powermacs.

but fo' real... if you watched the keynote, a comparative PC to these processors (performance wise) will cost you atleast $500 more, so they actually are cheaper now for the high ends atleast. I would like to see actually some figures of production price though

I suppose the next question is where do you go to buy ram for the PMac G5 that wont cost you your house, car, and first born. Not crucial.com yet apperently...
