Actually, I just reinstalled OS X and now XDarwin works just fine. I think maybe the frame buffer setting I changed impacted X-windows performance.

I forgot about the 10.1 CD. I was at the Apple Store in Mall of America to get it. Duh! I'm up to 10.1.4 now and about to install XDarwin.

It's VERY useful if your dock is huge--you can have ten or twelve applications running with a good view of all of them plus one taking up most of the screen. If you hack the dock so 256x256 icons are allowed, it's even better.

I'm up to 10.0.4! Neither the Security Update nor the 10.1 Update will install; Installer.app coolly informs me that "this software cannot be installed on this computer." Any ideas? Software Update.app says my "software is up to date."

Trying to play it cool here. I've reinstalled 10.0 and downloaded the Security Update as well as the 10.1 update, but neither one can "be installed on this computer" according to Installer.app. Also, Software Update talks with the Apple Server for at least five minutes; I stopped it. Help!
