Photoshop window "frame" space has turned black

Sorry, I assumed you would know, I should have put that in the original post!

    Linotype Font Management

Collections is a feature that Apple introduced and some font management apps take advantage of. They are pretty much like Smart Sets, but unlike Smart Sets, they actually display in your font menu of applications that can take advantage of OSX's Collections feature. When you click the font menu...

Photoshop window "frame" space has turned black

You've come across an interesting feature in Photoshop. 99% of PS users have no idea you can do this, but it can be useful in some situations. What you did was Shift + Click in the gray background area with black set as your primary color. When you Shift + Click in the background, it...

No, new products from Apple in over 5 YEARS!!

iPod iMac (both the globe and flat versions) Laptops (both the 12 inch and 17 Powerbooks) MacMini iSight Camera OSX iLife apps All their Pro apps I dunno, I think Apple has been pretty busy

    MacNurse, a macosx.com rip off?

I've been visiting free Mac support sites since long before either of these sites... they're called Web forums. Being first isn't the key, being the best is.

Problems importing IE Favorites into Safari 1.3.2

I don't know why it's not importing all of them, but you could try breaking it up into 2 smaller bookmark files before importing. To do this save a copy of your bookmarks as is on your desktop (either by exporting them from IE, or dragging the bookmarks file out of your preferences folder)...

InDesign bullets; how to adjust them?!?!

Um, you could use the baseline shift feature to adjust them. It's in the Control Bar about half-way over. It's two "A" s with an arrow. You can also adjust the default amount in the preferences.

Accessing FTP servers from the Finder error -43

Perhaps Applescript would be a solution... I don't know much about Applescript, other than the OS is scriptable, so you **should** be able to do what you want.

Way to synchronize username/login info between browsers?

I believe the two browsers use different formats for storing their cookie files, so I don't think you will be able to do it.

Accessing FTP servers from the Finder error -43

The built-in FTP features of OSX are quite limited, you've run into just one of them. The best thing you can do is download a real FTP program. Transmit from Panic.com is by far the best, in my opinion. If your budget does not permit the purchase of an application, there are several free FTP...

how do i make a copy of my hard drive?

Either of the apps previously mentioned will do the trick, however you should consider this: If you're going to move all your files to a new/different computer, you should NOT simply clone your existing drive and image it to the new Mac. Any issues you may have had (even the ones you didn't...

Safari - Logo in address bar?

the HTML code that you had to place in the header of the HTML is required for compliance with old browsers. It shouldn't be necessary for any browsers released in the last few years.

    graphics as bullets in InDesign?!?!?!

You can simply paste (or place) ANY graphic into the flow of the text by placing the text cursor where you want the bullet and either Pasting or Placing the graphic. You can then size the graphic normally. Essentially the graphic can be manipulated using most all the text tools other than size...

    Broken JPG's

I've had this happen to me before using my Canon G5 camera. An entire session of photos that viewed fine in the camera simply would not open on any machine I put them on using several different programs (Photoshop, GraphicConverter, Preview, iPhoto, etc...). I don't know what caused the...

How do I delete all the user accounts?

As already stated, you could just install whatever version of Tiger you have, then when it restarts after the install, simply pull the power plug or hold down the power button on the computer for a few seconds until it shuts down. This is not what you really want to do, but it will work. The...

    Can't boot

have you tried booting from the original install DVD and running DiskUtility from the file menu? This would be your first step. This sounds trivial, but also try unplugging the Mac from the power outlet and letting it sit for 5 minutes or so. Then plug it back in and try rebooting again.

    File/Directory Structure

And some cleverly create the serial number file as an invisible document with clever names that have nothing to do with the application itself. It's quite amusing really, but annoying to say the least.

trouble creating transparent icon in photoshop

Forget about all the previously mentioned apps and the part about 16-bit files... it's all either overkill or incorrect info (no offense). The easiest way to do what you want is to download a Photoshop plugin called ICOFormat. It's FREE and available for Photoshop CS and CS2. You install it...

iTunes Radio Control in Menu Bar--Possible?

Create a playlist from each radio station you listen to, then just about any menubar app that allows you to change playlists should be able to change the channels for you.

    MacBook Pro or Powerbook

Spending that kind of money, I would NEVER purchase old technology. Get the MacBook Pro now... the software will catch up soon enough - and is much cheaper to upgrade!
