anyone? Also could i put the new hard in a hard drive enclosure and sling it off my mac g4 and load os9 first then osx and then once i get everything setup hook it up as the master drive on the g4 quicksilver? I just am not sure if i could setup the drive from another machine then hook...

Okay, now if I do that, could I take the applications from the dying drive and drage them to the applications folder of the good drive? If so what about suitcase, how would that work since suitcase uses fonts in a folder that is in the root of the hard drive. Also, couldn't i just pull out...

Well here goes.... I have a quicksilver mac here at work, that i tried cloning using ccc carbon copy cloner, which didn't do the job, the software is great, but im afraid it is because of my hard drive. Now, the job finished successfully and i selected make bootable before the installation...

Thats the problem osx won't bood when i do that, just hangs on the intial white screen with grey apple. And i don't hate macs, just on my soap box.

i just booted back into os9 and i clicked the apple and there is nothing under the apple no control panel, just one thing i forget what it is. I can't believe this.

I don't understand how that could be? I was just in 9 and when holding down option it won't even show os9 or let me even boot into osx? UGGHHH! Im so pissed, i guess im SOL huh?

I rebooted again and same thing only shows me the one drive with the X on the hard drive and won't boot in osx. Damnnn!!!

It had a hard drive with an X next to it and I clicked the right arrow and now it has the white screen again with a circle and a line through it.

It just sits on the white screen with the apple because i had to hit the x key to get into osx. How do i get it back into os9?

i put in the system restore disc and chose backup and install and now i can't get back into osx.

Okay, i have os9 and osx installed on one drive, can i reinstall os9 without any formatting of my osx os?

That just removes it from osx that way, it is in classic where they were sticking, i figured out you need to trash the laserwriter8 prefs in the printingprefs of the system folder (0s9) That got rid of them except one, which is within an invisible folder, so now i have to try and figure that out.

I guess i thought this would be easy lol

How do you delete old printers in classic, if i boot into os9 i only see one installed printer. If i boot into x and open up word, go to file and print i have a bunch of old printers in there, where are these stored, need to get rid of them. Thanks, Bob. Anyone?

Basically what I found searching was this, and i did hours of searching, literally. This is my exact problem, which shows that attachments are fine when i boot into os9, but in osx 10.39 and classic outlook 2001 won't show either pdf's or gifs, jpegs correctly. And also from this link i tried...

If I try to open an attachment in outlook 2001 word and excel are fine. For jpegs, gifs, i set the internet properties to adobe reader 5.0 and when i had that set the icon turned into the pdf icon, before it was blank. I thought i was good to go, but i went to open the pdf and it said...
