MacBook problems and not an Apple Store in sight!

If you have an Apple ID, I think they use that since it is your e-mail address. That person might have gone by that.

Help Macbook Pro recognize my Kawai K4?

Have you configured the MIDI interface for the new Mac? I assume you're using some sort of USB MIDI interface to connect the Mac to the K4 (btw, I own this synth as well and love it :D). I have the Midisport 2x2 and I had to download the OS X driver for it from the M-Audio website.

My Baby Died. :( My New Baby is an Air. How Do You Like Air & Snow Leopard? Browser ?

Oh wow, hey Amie! Sure has been a long time. I've also been rather scarce here, but am making the effort to visit every once in a while. Shame about the iBook, especially knowing how much you loved that Mac, but happy to hear that you found a suitable successor. As for the browser, I've been...

    iMAC G5

I do believe that Apple still repairs the iMac G5 models if it's the capacitor issue (I had the same problem with mine), but I don't know if they will do it for free. Either way, it doesn't hurt to try. On another forum, someone mentioned that "they" (not sure who "they" are, but I'm assuming...

    Exc_bad_access

I would hope that since this is from beta testers that this is being reported back to Microsoft as well. It's great seeing it in here and getting some solutions, but I would also figure you'd get some solutions by posting bug reports to Microsoft about this. This way, others in the beta...

Can I burn a Linux ISO to a USB stick?

This thread may be of more help if you're doing this on a Mac OS X session. It pretty much mentioned using the dd command, but goes into more detail specific to OS X. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=123100

    MAC mini upgrade

If you go to the Apple menu and select "About This Mac," you should get some basic information about the Mac mini you have. If you click on More Info, you'll get more details on it. Please add that information on here so that we can let you know. If it's a G4 Mac mini, then so long as it's...

    having some serious issues...

I'd have to agree regarding Linux/ppc, even with Ubuntu (there is a community supported PPC version available). The installation isn't as brain-dead simple as it would be on Mac OS X, but if the OP is willing to give it a go it definitely is a worthy alternative. The only issue would be the...

How to upgrade imac 1.8GHz PowerPC G5 from 10.3.9

With Mac OS X, this is how it works with the version numbers. 10.5.6 is the 5th major release of Mac OS X (roman numeral 10) and there have been 6 minor revisions to this in order to fix bugs and patch security problems. Hence it being called 10.5.6. Major releases are purchased upgrades, so...

    Running slow

To the original poster, if you are low on hard drive space, then this might be the reason. Mac OS X likes to have at least 10%+ of free space on the hard drive. Anything less, then things will get somewhat slow.

    G5 Mac

Please provide more details about your setup. There are many Macs that came with the G5 processor. We need the following: Mac model (usually listed somewhere on the Mac, be it an iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook, etc.) OS X version installed (10.4.11, 10.5.8, 10.6.5) Make and model of modem...
