    quark 6 in tiger: useless?

    I also had a lot of freezes & crashes in Quark 6 when I first installed Tiger, but they occur much less frequently now. I don't remember doing anything in particular to sort out the problem, except repairing permissions occasionally. Nowadays I rarely get any crashes.

    Is there Classic support in Tiger?

    I had a minor problem with Classic on my G5 after installing Tiger. It couldn't open a Classic program (BarCode), and then displayed a message saying the Classic folder was missing (which it wasn't). So I dumped the folder and copied a different one from an eMac, and it then worked fine.

    G5 Help (not recognizing RAM)

    As I remember, I had a somewhat similar problem with my 1.8 G5 when I upgraded the OS: the non-Apple RAM prevented start-up. I exchanged it for Apple RAM and all was well.

    Problem sorted - Goliath 1.0.1 now works fine on my G5, and seems a good (+free) way to back up to one iDisk account from several computers.

    Thanks - I'll have a look at Tri-Backup and Data Backup. I've never explored Applescript, but maybe I should get into it.

    Multiple backups using iDisk

    Any ideas how to back up data from several computers to iDisk without synchronising them? - i.e. using iDisk as backup for multiple computers. There seems to be a solution at www.tnpi.biz/computing/mac/tips/idisk/ but this is far too complicated for me.
