Epson Stylus COLOR 670 on Jaguar

The Epson 670 printer should be included in the Epson printer package that comes with Jaguar. Not that this necessary helps, though. My system still refuses to add my Epson 740 to the printer list, in spite of the installed drivers...

    The time that is left...

What shall I do now? For 13 months, I have done nothing but wait for EV Nova. And it has come. This was the year when we waited for EV Nova, when the world came to a heel. Everything else has faded into the mists of yesteryear. So what is left? What is my purpose now? Something beeps a tiny...

iDisk, the horror and the pain...

Well, fudge Apple then. If everyone feels this way, how come there is no reciprocality? In the mutual relationship of love we share with Apple (they keep us alive, we keep them alive), they should listen to us... :-P I have tried similar solutions, and it isn't that hard to increase the speed...

iDisk, the horror and the pain...

Is iDisk supposed to be so abominably slow? Slow, such as that I have to wait when I highlight a folder on my iDisk, and wait even longer (several seconds) every time I open a window. I know that it is a real-time and net-accessed shared disk, but still... So tell me, folks, about yer iDisk...

    .avi files on os x

If you download the (to the best of my knowledge) only divx codec for osx at http://wolk.datashed.net/gems/mich/divosx.tgz and place it in the quicktime folder in you main library (not in your home directory), divx movies will play like a dream. A bad one, but nevertheless... Another...

    Theme your OS X faster!

For the first time in the history of customization, a theme has actually made a system faster. If you use osx themes with less graphic intensity and complexity than aqua (may I suggest the Glass theme, to be found at www.resexcellence.com. All you need to install themes can be found in one app...

A challenge for those who about to code

Bye, bye nroff, rogue and vi (from American Pie, Unix version)

Whatever happened to the configure and make commands? Are there any equivalents in os x's unix? Or else, how do I do to compile?

A challenge for those who about to code

I have here a challenge for those of you who have already recompiled the os x kernel twenty times and tired of hacking into the CIA servers. At http://www.freiburg.linux.de/~uae/ there is an unix-based amiga emulator. What I would like the brave code warriors out there to do is to compile these...

    File type 'owners'

Anyone know of a way to alter the owners of file types? If I would want to, for example, define Preview as the default application for all image files.

    Beware! I Lost Everything!

What probably happened was that dropnuke looked for the original of the alias you dropped on it. If you had deleted the alias, OS X wouldn't have deleted the original, but dropnuke, depending on it's programming, might do exactly this. For yer interest, you might try the same with a dummy...

    Appearance problems

Thanks for THE SOLUTION :-), but it is still not possible to arrange the icons in any order and keep them static. The desktop view options arranges the icons in certain orders, but if I would want to arrange them by myself, how would I do to keep them in those positions?

    Wayward icons...

Have anyone found a way to retain icon positions on the desktop after restarts and screen resolution switches? Since the desktop is a folder on the home volume, the icon positons on the desktop should correspond to the icon positions in the desktop folder, but either the folder contents are not...
