Problem with installing OS X on MacBook Air (2010)

e re-installing a macOS on a 2009 MacBook pro. A kind senior gave me a very old laptop, which looks to be in great condition, for donation to a non-profit helping refugees resettle into the WDC metro area. 2009 MBP 13”, which came with 10.5 Leopard installed. How to share Apple Watch face during Zoom sessions

I felt that way until my wife gave me one. If you like gadgets and are willing to do a bit of reading, get one. If you hate dealing with/learning about something new - don't. I love playing around with and learning about new stuff and so am on my second Apple Watch - the Ultra.

How to share Apple Watch face during Zoom sessions

I did. Totally unhelpful; little more than an Apple page advertising Watches. For anyone who might be interested, I found out how to do so after a lot of searching. HOW TO ENABLE SCREEN MIRRORING ON APPLE WATCH Step 1: Wear the Apple Watch on your wrist and unlock it. Step 2: Open the...

How to share Apple Watch face during Zoom sessions

I help seniors with Apple devices during twice-weekly Zoom sessions. I know how to share my Mac, my iPad, and my iPhone screens during Zoom sessions and it makes it so easy to walk seniors through what I am trying to show them how to do. Not a few of them are purchasing Apple Watches and when I...

Contacts not syncing between iMac & iPhone/iPad

My daughter has an iPad and an iPhone running the latest version of iOS 7 and an iMac running Mavericks. Once she got her iPhone, she realized the utility of using her Contacts app and, curiously, she chose to fill in all her addresses via the iPhone instead of adding them to Contacts in her...

Mailing web pages from within Safari

Just in case someone arrives at this thread searching for an answer to this problem, the settings you have to change are these: Apple Mail > Preferences > General Tab > Default Email Reader. Change this from Google to Mail and that does it. Again, thanks, Cheryl.

Mailing web pages from within Safari

I have an iMac and my wife has a MacBook Pro; both are running Mavericks. Both of us have @me.com and @gmail.com email accounts. In Safari, when I am viewing a web page and click on the <Share> icon in the Safari Menubar, I see this: https://db.tt/F1d6pLMb I can send the entire...

How to Install a Font in Snow Leopard

Thanks, but no need. I have been poking around and just figured it out. Sent myself the Verdana font from another Mac I have and imported it using Font Book. All seems to be working just fine. Many thanks, in any event, for taking the time to respond.

How to Install a Font in Snow Leopard

Following someone's directions a bit to slavishly, I managed to delete one of my favorite fonts from both Library/fonts and ~/Library/fonts: verdana regular. I don't know anything about fonts (isn't that how I managed to delete my favorite?). Will anyone tell me how to reinstall this...

Would this method be better than Boot Camp???

Talking to colleagues at work about running Windows on a Mac, someone asked if I had ever heard of VirtualBox. Here's what Wikipedia says about it »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VirtualBox Supported host operating systems include Linux, Mac OS X, OS/2 Warp (experimental OSE builds),[1]...

Would this method be better than Boot Camp???

Thanks very much for that clear explanation. The thrust of the article seemed to make sense to someone like myself who is not familiar with the method. Your clarification leads me to stick with Boot Camp when I get my MacBook back. As I have your attention, may I ask; do you have a...

Would this method be better than Boot Camp???

Following my recent post about how my MacBook went belly up precisely in the middle of my efforts to download SP3 for Windows XP, and the Apple Store said it needed a new HD, I was offered this suggestion: partition the HD on your own using Disk Utility. It seems to make sense, but I'd...

To end this thread: took the MacBook to the Apple Store today and they agreed that it was a hard drive problem and will replace it and call me back today when it's done. You just gotta love Apple! Bob
