Simply put: Jaguar can't really detect my external CD-RW. Everything used to work fine in OSX 10.1, though. My QPS FireWire 8x4x32 CD-RW (Samsung mechanism) has always been detected by the system, and i could burn CDs, from the Finder or Toast, no probs. Since Jaguar, things are strange...

Hi In X.1, we all knew the trick of moving the swap file to another disk or partition to increase launching apps. in my case by 25%. Now i'm on Jaguar and i'm not sure the trick is still neded, or even possible. Thanks for answers Vic.:cool:

For Epson scanners, look at a recent Mac OS FixIt post. Epson scanners works in all X apps by using TWAIN drivers.:)

i have a Que! Fire 8x4x32 and it works great, both with OS9 and OSX. You don't need any drivers. In OS9, firewire drives are supported by the firewire set extensions. In OSX, all firewire drives are supported, including Que! burners. What exactly is your problem? :cool:
