    turn off smbd logs?

I've finally narrowed down some really bad system freezes/crashes to my smbd logs, particularly log.smbd.old. For some reason, the smbd log grows to several gigs overnight periodically, fills my hard drive, and crashes the system. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening? I'd like to keep...

Adobe Go Live slowdown in 10.1

Yeah, I definitely have that problem (that's why I'm booted into OS 9 at the moment...). On MacFixIt.com today, it is mentioned that a lot of fonts (esp. Postscript fonts) in the MacOS 9 folder might be a cause. I haven't tried moving any out yet, but that's something to try...

    QueDrive Not burning...

yup, my Que! shows up in the system profiler... maybe you've got a bad cable or something.... although, if it shows up in 9.2.1, that's kinda weird... do you have it plugged into the native firewire, or a firewire card?

    QueDrive Not burning...

I've got a Firewire Que! (8x4x32, i think...) which OS 10.1 (and even iTunes in 10.0.4) recognizes, but it has some problems... I haven't tried burning any Data CDs in 10.1 (although, when I put in a blank CD, it does ask to "prepare" it for me for burning), but I haven't been able to get...

... I picked mine up at MacEntusiasts (on Pico near Westwood) at almost 4pm today... btw: they're a great Mac store/repair shop if you ever need anything... not the best prices, but good service :) --Greg

I was so stupid to play with TechTool....

Actually, DiskWarrior seems to work just fine on an OS X drive.... I wouldn't run it in OS X, but if you boot from an OS 9 drive (or the CD), it works fine. In fact, it has already saved my drive twice after various crashes rendered it unbootable... --Greg

    changing keyboard layout in UNIX?

What file(s) contain the setting for the keyboard layout in the OS X command line? I want to change to the Dvorak keyboard layout when using the CLI, which works with the GUI translating for the CLI, but no when I login straight to the console... thanks, greg
