    i dont use terminal gcc, i use the next-best-imitation of it(Well, actually a connector to it), Projectbuilder. It comes with the dev tools CD, its basically gcc without all that infuriating typing, the program does it for you. project builder is basically gcc with an interface.

    Neither IO or IOSTREAM .h exist in the include folder, yet when i do the #include <iostream.h> command it works just fine in project builder, is there any "unix sherlock" that i can use via terminal? :D Otherwise, i'm at a dead end :confused:

    C++ for Dummies....?

    you dont need to use the gcc compiler, vi, or emacs, to get this done. There's a little thing called the developer's CD that came with mac os x.... Just open Project Builder (DEV CD) and choose new project, choose C++ tool, this is great. I am able to test my programs easily this way.
