10.4.11 Issue

I have a G5 with 10.4.11
Yesterday i started to get black outlined boxes around windows, like icons on the desktop, when you click on it, a solid lined black box appears around the icon,

as well, in adobe acrobat, when i attempt to close the program, the red x does not work, so i have to use the apple Q combination,

any help would be great

You have (probably inadvertantly) turned on VoiceOver. Open your System Preferences, then Universal Access pane. Click on the Seeing tab, and turn OFF VoiceOver. You'll notice that Command-f5 turns that on or off, also.
