A little IRC Help please

Okay, so here's the thing...I am a new mac user over from winXP and I am an avid IRC user which used to do it all in mIRC in XP. Since, I have switched to xchat aqua. But anyways, here's my question...when you initiate a DCC request through IE on XP (let's say through www.packetnews.com), XP auto opens mIRC to the specific server because it recognizes the IRC protocol. So, how, if I can, accomplish this in panther? I would like to not have to do it all manually, because frankly it gets a little hairy when you have to input all the triggers for DCC and fserve commands. Please Help!

I use an older program call Ircle. It's a small shareware program. Along with that program I use the Acid Jazz (freeware) Apple scripts. Also here is a search of IRC programs. Just look around and find what fits your need.

The scripts are cool, but not what I was asking about...i'm looking for a way to allow Safari to automatically open an IRC client when a server link is clicked. Maybe there is a protocol config file that can be edited to add the IRC:// designator? Any help would be appreciated.
