My grandson has a Macbook 5,1 2GHZ Core 2 Duo
It seems NOT to have a Firewire port.
Is that correct? If so I am surprised.
I have posted a photo he sent me.

That is correct. That MacBook was apparently looking to the future, and has no Firewire. It's the first aluminum 13-inch, and dropped Firewire on that MacBook model. Not completely a surprise, and not unusual, as 2008 also marked the entry of the Macbook Air, which has never included Firewire ports. When the aluminum 13-inch acquired the MacBook Pro name in 2009, a Firewire port was re-added, ostensibly to make it a "pro-level" model again.

It is correct, and a lot of people were surprised-annoyed when this happened.
