Adaptec SATAConnect 1205SA Compatible?

Wishful Drinking
Can anyone confirm whether the Adaptec SATAConnect 1205SA Serial ATA controller card works in Macs, specifically my Quicksilver G4/867? They're being sold by MacWarehouse, but that doesn't appear to mean anything.

It's half the price of the equivalent Sonnet card, and is about as much as I want to spend! Seems cheaper to buy a Sonnet card and have it UPS'd from the US, than get one in the UK, but not by much :(

Anyone have any other recommendations?

Cheers,
Dave

Was hoping to get one from the UK, save getting one sent over, but yeah, that'll do. Exchange rates being what they are, consider it ordered!

Still curious about the Adaptec card tho. Anyone know?

Thanx

FWIW, I now have a Sonnet Tempo 2-channel Serial ATA card and a SIIG 2-channel Serial ATA card. The Tempo is great and does exactly what it says, working perfectly with my 200GB S-ATA drive. The SIIG cars however, hangs repeatedlyif copying more than a couple of MB at a time, and is therefore effectively useless. If you're in the market for one of these cards, I'd recommend you DON'T buy the SIIG card. Pay the extra, and get one that works!
