Add/delete file to external hdd problem

I have using my external hdd to transfer file from my window to mac. Now i want to add or delete folder in my external hdd and mac is not allow me to do so, it said the operation cannot be complete because of you do not have sufficient privileges for" xxxxx" So what should i do?
 
What format is the external drive in? It sounds like NTFS, which is read-only under Mac OS X.

If you want cross-platform read/write capabilities, format the drive as FAT32.

oh, my external hdd is NTFS, you are right! thanks for telling me...cheers
