After upgrade Panther : 'blue screen' and all applications "unexpectedly quit"

I try to upgrade to Panther, when finish and login to admin, 'menu on top' not appear , screen : total blue ...my old file on desktop and hd not appear. and when I try open all applications from docking : fail!, on screen : "unexpectedly quit" ... when I try push button "force quit" I see Finder is blinking!
Now I cannot use my computer, what must I do now?

Is this an upgrade from 10.2.x to 10.3 or 10.3 to 10.3.1? I'm going to guess it's 10.3 to 10.3.1. So, load the Panther install disk, restart the machine (if you can do it by the Finder then hold down the "C" button at startup to start from the install CD disk. Then from the Finder File Menu launch Disk Utility and do both disk repairs and repair permissions.

If that doesn't fix it, then reload the install disk and do and Archive & Install. install. Then after all is better, load 10.3.1. Now, the important thing to remember, is if 10.3.1 acts funny, re-install the 10.3.1 update. Believe it or not this really works.

Now, IMHO, you should probably get into the habit of doing preventive maintenance. After any major software install get into the habit of going to the Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility and Repair Permissions from there. This will save you a lot of headaches.

Good Luck.

I upgrade from 10.2 , I try to fixed permision.. also try to upgrade 10.3.1, but still same problem.
I confused...another people can help me?

Insert the 10.3 install cd 1, choose Disk Utility > Repair permissions, choose your hard drive to run the program in it.
Or run Diskwarrior if you have it.

If DiskUtility doesn't fix it, .. maybe a clean install? Do you have a backup copy of everything (before you updated to 10.3) ?

After make Fixed Permission now I can see my Finder, but Almost of Applications still "Unexpectedly Quit".
What must I do next?

My Step :
1. run utility : repair permision
2. with software PCC, choose Finder Clean Preferences
3. delete all --> Home-> Library -> Preferences

Now...all of my applications are works in Panther!

Thanks all !
