airport password issues on iMac but not MacBook

My Titanium PowerBook G4 breathed her last, and yesterday I bought a refurbished iMac Intel 20" 10.5.7 PLUS a Macbook C2D for my daughter. My trusty local authorized Apple guys migrated everything from my PowerBook hard drive into BOTH new machines.

So, how come the Macbook seamlessly transferred my wireless passwords, asked me one simple question, and then effortlessly connected with the secured network where I live -- but the iMac keeps telling me that the same WEP password from the same hard drive is invalid and won't let me connect? I danced around in circles with the keychain access, which may be part of the problem.

Be gentle with me: I'm still grieving the loss of my beloved Mackenzie (R.I.P.).

@satcomer

Thanks. Can you say more about that? I'm not the router owner, but I know it's a Belkin F5D62 31-4 and I have access to some info scribbled on a page. Do I check this myself - or call their support number? Are you saying that the router might filter out one MAC address but not another?

Also go to the folder /Applications/Utilities/ and launch KeyChain Access. Once there delete any files pertaining to that router and then attempt a reconnection (make sure you have the password and security settings).

Once last thing, does the router password have a space it anywhere? I ask because there have some conflicts with WEP passwords and spaces in them.
