Any good Mac word processing software out there?

I do not like word but need something for Mac that is easy to use and has a few bells and whistles but not too much junk either. I need a word processing software which can handle both English and Japanese on the same line. Japanese is double-byte characters.

And, of course, there's Pages (part of iWork, $79). It's made by Apple, and can handle both English and Japanese. (I just tried it.) I have been very satisfied with Pages. It's just like what you said, "a few bells and whistles, but not too much junk, either."

The OpenOffice suite is the most powerful open-source and free office suite you can find, www.openoffice.org

I use that in conjunction with Microsoft Office 2008, mostly the latter. Microsoft might not make a good operating system, but their office suite and keyboards are great.
