apple-tab missing apps in the list shown

Given:
- Leopard - 10.5.1 on powerbook w/powerPC G4
- running spaces (and various apps inside each)
- (not sure if of any significance): running X11 in its own space (with kde apps inside)

Problem (NOT CONSISTENT!):

while working (could not identify any pattern of opened apps) all of a sudden the apple-tab key sequence does not bring up the complete list of icons of all running apps, but just some of them. At that time the only way to switch to a missing_from_list_of_icons app is to specifically ctrl-<nb> to the space that app is running in (assuming one could remember such), or "clicking" the sapces bar icon, and choosing the appropriate space. Rebooting and running (almost all the time) the same apps, in the same spaces, brings back the functionality, for a while ... which then vanishes again.

Any idea of what may cause the above?

I think Leopard is simply just still buggy...sadly.

I was having the same problem (with 10.5.1 on a G4) and found a semi-solution on an Apple Discussion page: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6114910

Open Terminal and on the command line type "killall Dock" (without the quotes). The Dock will quit and then restart and the problem will be gone, for a while anyway. But it's faster than restarting.
