Apple USB modem & dialup in Boot Camp problems

Hey,

I'm having some troubles getting my Apple USB modem connected to dialup in Windows XP. It currently dials and connects fine, and I'm able to do almost everything.

However, when I launch World of Warcraft and attempt to login, my connection suddenly drops out and it brings up the window telling me I got disconnected etc.

The same thing happened when I was connected to my dialup connection and I opened up Battlefield 2. It seems it drops out when I open a game that needs an internet connection for something.

Are there any solutions for this?

By the way, I've already tried disabling all my wireless stuff and turning off the Windows firewall. No luck. Also, I use a 24" iMac.

Thanks.

Many computer games (such as Battlefield 2 or Star Wars: Battlefront 2) are not compatible for online play with dial-up modems. These first person shooter style games are the most sensitive to latency, making playing them impractical on dial-up .
Sorry, only hi-speed for many multi-player games.

Yeah I know, that's not the problem I have though. World of Warcraft works fine in dialup, but when I try and login (aka ordering the game to do something with the internet), the internet drops out.

The only reason I installed Battlefield 2 was to see if it was only with WoW or if it was all games in general. It seems its games in general.

Yes, most current multi-player games on dial-up would be a wasted effort. Even if you could get it to work, the delay would be huge.

Before I switched to Mac I played World of Warcraft on my PC using a dialup connection. It worked fine.

i know how to fix this, after you get a new mac, its set to undial the internet after a set amount of time, go to the dialing center and click on help, and type in disconnection and it will tell you how to turn the idle auto off.
