After installing OS 10.4/10.4.2, my internal and external optical drives, after working perfectly with 10.2.8 for a long time, will no longer recognize audio CDs. They have no problem reading and mounting, playing and copying data discs or dvd's. The internal drive is a Pioneer DVR 109, and the external is a Que Fire CD writer.
The message I receive when I insert an audio cd is "The Disc You Inserted Is Not Readable By This Computer" Ignore Eject
If I Ignore the message and open Toast, I can see the CD in the copy tab. I can make a disk image or copy it, and the files are fine, but it will not mount on the desktop, and is not visible in any windows I open.
Interestingly, if I boot from one of my external hard drives into 10.2.8, both optical drives play audio cds without any problems.
