avi files to video-ts

can you convert avi movie files to video-ts to skip the encoding process. Or what is a quicker way of burning avi files to dvd?

First, this:

Next, "convert" = "encoding". They're the same thing. .VOB ("video-ts") files are in a different format than AVI files, and thus must be converted... encoded... same thing. You must go through the encoding/converting process -- there is no way around it.
