i am new to mac's and i am a windows convert,i also use linux too,but on my new mac g4 i am after a very easy to use avi player so i can play all my movies i have on cdr in avi format,can anyone tell me one i should be lookin for please,i miss my movies

As Linux user you should now about the QuickTime video "Swiss Army Knife" of video plugins called Perian. Also take a look at Flip4Mac.

Yer, VLC is all you need. It can open almost all types of audio and video formats.
