Has there been any rumors or concrete decisions on when Apple DVDStudio Pro will support Blu-Ray authoring, or is Toast 9 our only option??

Nope, no word on it. You'll know it when Apple releases it -- Apple typically doesn't tell anyone when they're going to release something new (be it hardware or software).
Anyone that does claim to know is one of the following:
1) Someone who works at Apple, has breached their NDA, and will soon be fired.
