HI
IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME THAT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
i am totally new to mac os and bougt a g5 recently.
i took the mac os harddrive out of the g5 and reformatted the harddrive from my pc thinking i could install windows 7 on it. when i reformatted it i lost all the mac os x filesystem and can't fix it. My problem is i am trying to install mac os x back onto the mac hardrive and when i boot all i get is the finder icon in the middle with a question mark on it i can't get any further than that. i have tried to press control alt and p and r and it came up to this page but now i can''t even get to that page anymore. it was on snow leopard i think and was version 10.5

could someone help please

You system on that hard drive is gone, and you will need a set of Mac OS X install CDs/DVDs in order to reinstall Mac OS X on that computer.

Do you have a set of Mac OS X install CDs/DVDs? When you purchased the computer, the seller should have provided those CDs/DVDs to you... if they did not, I recommend contacting the seller and kindly explaining that your purchase was incomplete and to complete the purchase by providing the System Restore CDs/DVDs that belong to the computer.

Don't ever do that again. The only way to run Windows on your computer is via Microsft's Virtual PC 7 or some other emulation software. VPC uses a disc image file as a virtual hard drive. It does not use a disc partition. That said, my own installation of Windows XP on VPC has become so unstable as to be unusable. I highly doubt that you will have much success installing Windows 7 on VPC.
