Bootcamp partitioning with Windows XP ver older than SP2

I had to abort the installation of windows in middle of Bootcamp installation on Intel MacBook, as I read the fine print and warnings on installation guide not to use the Windows XP version that didn't have SP2. I have XP Professional SP1a version 2002 single disk - and wondering what the issue is if I use this older version - any one has any experience ?

Thanks nixgeek. I had never heard about this slipstreaming before, but does sounds like might work, let me try. But have you any idea if I make a CD in this fashion, would it still be accepted as a legal version for installations ?

Yup.

As long as the original version was legit, then the new, slipstreamed version will be legit as well. Basically, all you're doing is akin to a "Windows Update" before installing the OS -- not after. No issues with legality there.
