bootup stalling at 'waiting for printing services'

This is really getting on my nerves!

I have tried deleting cache, repairing permissions etc, even installing a new OS on my old G4 running Panther.

Does anyone know what causes this slowdown? Is it hardware related?

I have also experienced the same problem on G5 Macs, 5 years old.

The console doesn't give much away either!!!

If anyone has any tips, please let me know!!!!
 
Well lets repair your Printing system. There is a shareware application that has a 7 day trial that will repair all parts of your Printing system as possible called Print Therapy. If you use the software it will should be full feature for 7 days before a shareware fee.

Also check out your logs (/Applications/Utilities/Console) and check out you startup items in System Preferences->Accounts. See if one of them is old or something and are searching for products that are long gone.
