Hello,

I done a search but was unable o locate any helpful topics. I have a disk image that is 6.7gb in size. How can I burn this image onto a 4.7gb dvd?

Thanks,

Answer: Not possible - not without a lot of compression, which usually means a loss of quality on a video, for example - or editing out parts that are not needed.
Why not use a dual-layer DVD? You would have up to 9.4 GB of space available, and your 6.7 GB will easily fit.

Thanks for the info. The image is of software not a movie but I guess that doesn't make a difference. Can the DVD player in a Mac G4 1GHZ read dual layer DVD's?

Thanks

Yes, for sure!
Any DVD drive will read dual-layer DVDs.
Most DVD movies are dual-layer disks, for example.

The problem comes when you want to write, or burn a dual-layer DVD. You need to have a burner that has that capability. The standard burner in an older Mac would not be DVD-R Dual-layer.
