Buyer's Question new MB or refurb MBPro?

I am getting ready to purchase a laptop and I'm curious as to whether or not I should get a new Macbook (13 inch, 2.0GHz, 1GB, 80GB Hard Drive, $1,299) or a refurbished Macbook Pro (15 inch, 2.0 Ghz, 512MB, 80GB Hard Drive, 1,349)? The Macbook advertises a dual layer drive. If this can burn Dual layer DVDs that would be a big selling point, but it's not anything I can't live without I guess. I primarily use my G5 for music purposes from collecting to making so I want to be able to do that as well on my laptop. If any one can help me sort out this situation I would really appreciate it. I'm looking for something that won't be obsolete in a few years also.

I can only give you my opinion... can't really back it up, BUT I would go for the MacBook Pro. larger display size not much difference in price. I love my MacBook Pro!

i'd buy it for the graphics capabilities and the expansion alone. it's a pro computer, like it's name says.

I'd go pro too, for the screen size alone. The screen on the MacBook is too small for me. You also get better gfx performance, and the pro design and quality, and a choice of gloss (If they have both).

i'd get a refurb mac over a new mac. they carry the same warranty as new, and cost less.

Yep, so long as there is a valid 1yr wty or extended with applecare. Refurbished mbp uses the same parts as a new mbp isn't it?
