Can you restore?

Hi. Does anyone know if there is any way to restore your ibook to the deault like when you first purchased it?

Simply boot from the included OS X "Restore" CD/DVD, then follow the on-screen instructions to erase the hard drive and install Mac OS X fresh.
 
However: There are some little utilities etc. installed when it comes from the factory. These might or might not be on the installation DVD. IIRC, there's always _some_ stuff included from factory that's _not_ on the DVD.

I'm about to buy a new macbook for my wife, and was going to switch out the 60 gig HD for a 3rd party 160 gig HD (save money on space rather than buy from apple)

Is there a list of any extra software on the macbook that won't be on the restore CDs?
