Cannot delete BootX

I am trying to delete some files on an external hard drive that I use to backup my entire main hard drive and it keeps coming up with a file is locked error. I tried movng the file back out of the trash and chaing the ownership to my name instead of system but it comes up with an error that says an unepected error occured 120.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of this file (along with the many others this is happening to)?
 
Take that locked file out of the Trash to the desktop. The do a Get Info (command+i or a Get Info from the Finder File Menu) and Unlock the file. Then throw it out.
