I can't seem to install leopard on my harddrive that I just installed. I managed to get Tiger to install on it and decided I wanted to reformat it completely before I did my Leopard install, so I used Disk Utility to erase the drive and partitions I had setup before inserting the Leopard install disc (from a friend's new macbook), to boot from disc. The message I keep getting is that the installer cannot install on the harddrive. I had to partition my new harddrive (samsung, self install) before I could get Tiger to work and recognize the drive. I also have tried the disk 'repair' and 'verify' option and it all looks normal/fine. I tried doing the same thing for this Leopard install, but it refuses to work. Is this due to the discs I borrowed? Would I need to buy retail discs for Leopard?
