cannot mount dvd+r

Hello,

I have a Matshita CD-RW/DVD-ROM CW-8121 for my G4 PB (10.3.2) and whenever I put a DVD+R that has data in there, it does not mount, instead the DVD+R just automatically ejects. Does anyone know a way to resolve this issue. Thank you.

I apologize that I forgot to mention that it works on my friend's dvd drive, which is running on a xp box. I also tried putting into my external dvd-writer and it seems to read it okay. Thanks.
 
If you go to THIS SITE , You'll find that not all DVD players will accept all DVD formats. DVD-R is still the most compatible among various DVD players, DVD-RW OK, DVD+R somewhat less, and DVD+RW even less. Apple does not officially support any accept DVD-R, although some burners and players are more compatible. Until fairly recently, one format WOULD NOT play on another format at all. 4 different formats, each requires hardware compatibility (which is getting better, but still confusing)
