Cannot print anymore OS 10.4.8

ok my iMac G5 has develped a weird problem. It stopped printing! I have a HP Laserjet 4 Plus on a wireless router and had it setup with IP printing. My G5 is on a Airport to my wireless router. Worked great for over a year, then it stopped. I would get an error (error while printing?) when I tried to print. Then I discovered that when I try to run Disk Warrior or other tools to check my system it asks for user name and password, then when I type it in I get an error! But my password is fine when I log in. I ended up reading about enabling the root account so I did that and logged in with it (I set a password don't worry) and guess what I added the printer and it works! But any other account it does not work. I tried the print repair tool (cannot remember the name, it is shareware) Nothing did the trick. Any ideas?
 
Ok, it's obvious but I'll ask. Did you "repair permissions"?

Then go System preferences -> Print & Fax.
Highlight your printer in the window then click - (minus) to remove it. Then click + (plus) to add a printer. Take it from there.
