Can't Change Language Setting in "Language & Text"

Hello,

Under Language & Text there are 4 tabs:

Language
Text
Formats
Input Sources

I have added a language under the first tab, Language, only to find that there is no correspondingly supported input option under the fourth tab, Input Sources.

I would now like to remove the entry I added under the first tab, Langauge, but cannot figure out how to do this. I have tried highlighting and pressing delete, dragging it out of the window, etc., but so far nothing works.

Can someone please tell me how to remove items from this tab?

Sorry - forget this.

After checking the list of languages again I've found that rather being in alphabetical order, the language I added was moved to the bottom of the entire list of languages.

I've unticked this, so am hoping a reboot will remove it from the list.

Will post back if this doesn't work.
 
If you open Language & Text, click the Language tab (if not already on that tab).
You can drag the individual languages into any order that you want. The order that you set up will be used to determine how your system uses the various languages that you have selected, and in the order that you have setup that language list.
I don't know if you can actually remove any languages from the list, but you can click the Edit List... button, then uncheck any language that you don't want to see in the list. You can choose to uncheck all languages, so that only your primary language remains listed.

And, of course, a language that you might use for system menus and dialogs, etc, doesn't always have a corresponding input, or keyboard layout. What particular language were you trying to add? And, how is the lack of a specific keyboard input for that language affecting the use of that language? The keyboard would remain set for whatever language that you normally use.

Thanks, but it's all sorted out now.

It was because the language I selected was shunted to the bottom of the Edit list rather than being left in alphabetical order that I couldn't find it in the list to untick and thus remove.
